Ah, the sound of the other shoe… in Between Two Fires.

Ah, the sound of the other shoe… in Between Two Fires.

I just really realized we’d be perfect airplane buddies, because I always take the window seat. ;) Thanks for tagging me!

You’re welcome :)

I was given the window seat when I flew to Atlanta and I asked the guy next to me if he wanted to swap seats because I knew I was going to get up a lot. “No, thanks, I’m an aisle guy” was his reply, so I didn’t feel that guilty the many, many times I had to wake him up :)

Consider the possibility in Close Encounters of the Murderous Kind.

Rule 1: Always post the rules.
Rule 2: Answer the questions that the person who tagged you asked you and write 11 new ones.
Rule 3: Tag 11 people and link them to the post.
Rule 4: Actually tell them you tagged them.
Rule 5: Tag/link me when you’re done, I wanna read them.

  • 1. Given the sad news I woke up to this morning, what’s your favorite Robin Williams role and why? To be honest I haven’t seen that many of his movies, but even though I’ve only seen the last half of it, I’d say that Bicentennial Man is my favorite because it made me both laugh and cry.
  • 2. Do you consider yourself an outdoor person?
    Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P
  • 3. What’s your favorite flower? Most likely a tulip.
  • 4. If you’re doodling idly, what do you usually draw or write? I draw patterns, but I don’t doodle very often.
  • 5. Have you ever wanted to change your name, or the spelling of your name? Or HAVE you changed your name? (If you changed your name for reasons of personal safety, of course you don’t have to share that.) Would you ever change your name, or if you did, what would you change it to? (Yes this is all one question. Shut up.) No, I’ve never wanted to change my first name and if I ever end up marrying someone, I’ll most likely keep my last name as well. Not because it’s special, it’s one of the most common names here, but because I’m so used to it :D
  • 6. If personal space travel exists in our lifetime, and you could, say, take a vacation on the moon, would you want to? Why or why not? Yes, I’d want to go to the moon or wherever the space ship went if it was a safe way to travel :D Why? Because I LOVE traveling and seeing new places.
  • 7. What kind of climate and/or terrain (mountains, desert, beach) do you feel most at home in? I actually like the climate here where we have four seasons, get a lot of rain and also freezes our butts off during winter.
  • 8. Do you remember the moment you first realized, “Oh, I’m in a fandom.” Tell me about it. No, not really, sorry.
  • 9. What’s been your favorite age so far? My 30s, I think. I got an education and also finally gathered the strength to come out to my parents, friends and family.
  • 10. What’s one goal you have for this week? Do you think you’ll reach it? My goal was not to drink so much Coca-Cola, but I’ve failed miserably.
  • 11. Window or aisle seat? Aisle seat because I need to get up and stretch my legs a lot when flying.

My questions:

1) Have you ever experienced something that couldn’t quite be explained scientifically?
2) Do you have a favorite saying? Why/why not?
3) What was your first paid job?
4) What is the title of the last song you sang along to?
5) Do you own a stuffed animal?
6) If you could spend a day as a cartoon character, which one would you choose and why?
7) If you had to move to another country, which one would you choose and why?
8) If you had the chance to talk to the elected leader of your country, which topic(s) would you prefer to discuss?
9) What’s your favorite dessert?
10) Why did you join tumblr?
11) Do you believe in love at first sight?

WHEN U LOVE SOMETHING SO HARD BUT THE FANDOM CONSISTS OF APPROXIMATELY SIX OTHER PEOPLE AND A SHOELACE

I know there are other Highlander fans out there… somewhere…

And I can’t find the Stargate fans anywhere on here!

I’m a fan of both! I’ve loved Highlander since i was 11.

My good friend
samantha-carter-is-my-muse
is a HUGE Stargate fan.

Thanks for the mention, butmadnnw <3

This is a tumblr hug :) send this to at least 10 of your favourite followers. And remember, please don’t break the chain. ❤

Thank you <3

52 week money challenge - week 26-33

It has been a couple of difficult months with an expensive antibiotics treatment and I also found a new therapist who is helping me with my neck and lower back problems.

Still I managed to put 907 DKK aside for AT8, which means I’m now halfway through saving up for the hotel bill - I’m going to stay in London from April 6-13.

Balance: 3540 DKK

$1 = 5,45 DKK
€1 = 7,46 DKK
£1 = 9,17 DKK

Okay, so it’s been two weeks since his proposal and you still haven’t accepted it? Shouldn’t that send up some red flags somewhere in your head? Like if it’s really taking you this long to decide, are you really ready to marry the guy?

As stuckonaglacierwithmacgyver once said, if a guy proposes and you’re all, “But what IS happiness, really? Is it marriage? I don’t think so,” then maybe that’s a big flashing neon sign that you shouldn’t marry the guy.

Signs you’re probably not ready for marriage with this person:

1. You didn’t see the proposal coming.
If the proposal itself is shocking (not the place or timing, but the whole idea), chances are you have not communicated enough or effectively in this relationship and you’re probably not ready to take that step until you’re both on the same page. Nobody should find the next step ‘surprising’.

2. They make decisions behind your back that annoy you, even though the gesture should seem very sweet/loving/genuine (eg: buy your dream house without telling you)
Again, I would suggest your communication skills in this relationship need revisiting, and your personal priorities clearly explained in the long term. Also, clarify if your ‘dream house’ is a realistic ambition or just a whimsical fantasy you like to talk about. A life-long partner should be able to tell the difference.

3. They do not understand / respect your job or position, and rather than accept it or try to talk with you about it, they use slightly illegal avenues to gain that information from other sources, such as misusing police resources or attempting to bypass confidentiality or Top Secret classifications.
Especially for career-oriented people, understanding the specifics of each other’s work/life balance is paramount. Also crucial is understanding that there are elements of one which may be separate or removed from the other. Some jobs require secrecy or a lack of personal communication. If your partner is a professional, and adheres to the laws surrounding privileged information, you need to accept that this is an aspect of your relationship, not fight it. It doesn’t mean they love you any less if they don’t want to / can’t talk about work.

4. You take over 2 weeks to say ‘yes’, not because you’re working out relationship details, but because you start re-examining what it is you really want in your life.
I would say, run. Run fast. If your immediate reaction is not ‘yes’, have a think. If your thinking takes over 2 weeks, the answer is obviously ‘no’. Listen to your instincts; they see sense more than you do.

5. Planning your wedding is a series of uncomfortable and embarrassing conversations rather than an exciting process for you and all your friends and family.
It should be fairly obvious, but you shouldn’t feel these emotions in relation to your wedding. This is a celebration for you and your future husband. Feeling frustrated that the florist hasn’t returned your call is normal. Feeling ashamed of the wedding is not. Do not pass go, do not collect your marriage certificate on the way past.

6. You practically ask your known long-term flame to talk you out of it, looking for any good excuse, not once but twice, including but not limited to when he has his current girlfriend over at his place.
This shouldn’t have to be said, but if you’re asking your unrequited love what he really thinks about your future wedding, you’re probably screaming desperation. Walk away. Skip away. Nutbush away.
